In the past it was a prophecy, but in the future the past has ocurred!

I picked up a front Dana 60 axle the other day— it is from a 1979 F250. This thing is massive—my internet searchage results detail that it weights in the neighborhood of 500lbs! I have a lot to do before I can actually use it, including but not limited to:

  • rebuild / replace hubs
  • clean, strip, and paint housing
  • possibly rebuild kingpins
  • replace axleshaft u-joints
  • replace axle seals
  • regear and get some kind of locker
  • get new calipers and brakes
  • weld on new perches
  • other stuff I haven’t even thought of yet

Although my brother and I tried…the ~500lb weight of this thing defeated us, and I had to go get an engine hoist to unload it and move it around!
